Get Patriotic for Edmond's 50th LibertyFest sponsored by CBE

It’s time to celebrate our country’s independence with the Edmond community! Citizens Bank of Edmond is proud to be a premier sponsor of Edmond’s LibertyFest for 2022. And we are doubly excited to be able to support these events in their special 50th anniversary year. Since 1972, this grassroots celebration has been going strong.

Join us for each of these ten events starting June 12th all the way through to Independence Day on July 4th. Starting this weekend, we’ll kick off our fest with a flag retirement ceremony this Sunday.

The weekend of June 24th is full of fun for everyone. Check out all your favorite events — from bull riding to barrel racing — at the 52nd Annual LibertyFest Rodeo on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th. Meanwhile, you can kick it into high gear with the 21st Annual LibertyFest Car Show on Saturday, June 25th — just $20 for car entry prior to the event and free to the public. Closing out this busy weekend, take flight at the KiteFest on Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th at Mitch Park. Kite kits will be free and available to young kite enthusiasts, and several master kiters will be showing off their skills.

Bring a blanket and a picnic for the Concert in the Park on Thursday, June 30th on the UCO Campus. Enjoy a free hour-long show of live music directed by Dr. Brian Lamb, the Director of the UCO School of Music, and stick around for ice cream after the show!

Heading into July, we’ve got ParkFest at Mitch Park on Saturday, July 2nd. There will be plenty for the young ones to enjoy with watermelon, bounces and family entertainment. You won’t want to miss the engaging Road Rally event on Sunday, July 3rd. This unique scavenger hunt lasts less than two hours and is a beloved event across generations. Sign-up begins at 10 a.m. for an 11 a.m. event, with an awards ceremony that evening at 5 p.m. where winners are announced.

Finally — the holiday itself! On Monday the 4th we’ll have multiple ways to celebrate: if you’re feeling active, participate in the Liberty Sprint. This walk/run takes a lap around the parade route (about 1.5 miles). The first 400 registrants will receive a commemorative 50th Year LibertyFest cinch bag, and costumes are highly encouraged! The LibertyFest Parade will make the rounds downtown starting at 9 a.m. And what’s Fourth of July without the fireworks! Head over to E. C. Hafer Park for the display starting at 9:30 p.m.

If you’re interested in participating in any of these events, head over to fill out a form! Or sign up for the Liberty Sprint here. And the Liberty Fest wouldn’t be able to pull all this off without an incredible group of dedicated volunteers. If you’d like to join the ranks, get in touch! They would be happy to have you.

We’re proud to be a premiere sponsor of LibertyFest for its 50th year and wish it many successful years of patriotic family fun to come!
